The photography world suffered a great loss this week, but the world as a whole is made stronger by what Frank Espada left behind.
As a student I had the great privilege of studying under Frank for a short time. I can honestly say that he taught me everything I know about the darkroom.
Frank Espada, leader and activist of New York's Puerto Rican community in the 1960s, died in California, his son said Monday. He was 84.
